There is never a dull moment on a Van Raay Paskal Farms feedlot. If you enjoy the outdoors and engaging in a variety of tasks, this is the career for you! Riding horses daily if you are a pen checker, operating heavy equipment, welding, building and repairing equipment are all part of the feedlot life. Of course the other part includes, but is not limited to, receiving and shipping, processing, feeding, moving and treating the cattle. Teamwork is a must at the feedlot!

Modern feedlot facilities include indoor processing and animal care facilities with chute-side feedlot management software system.

The Feed Truck Driver is an employee who is responsible to drive and operate feed truck and loader in a safe manner, following direction from Foreman as well as company protocols and procedures.

Feedlot Maintenance Technician
The Feedlot Maintenance Technician is responsible for his own health and safety as well as the health and safety of others around them. They are also to repair and maintain all feedlot equipment and ensure everything is in good working condition. Also, perform a variety of maintenance and repair duties in the feedlot including maintain housekeeping and ensuring all work areas are kept clean and organized.

Pen Checker
The Pen Checker is responsible of identify sick or injured animals, as well as understand and follow pharmacological protocols for cattle treatment. Members within this area will also have horsemanship skills required to move sick/injured animals in a humane, safe fashion. Pen Checkers will also be required to process incoming animals, assist with routine feedlot maintenance, and help ship those animals at finished weights.
